DEPARTMENT SOUTHWEST DIVISION VICE PRESIDENT • 2016-2017
Integral participant in the strong Division Vice President Leadership Team Assisting Department President in Division Development to meet goals. Attended many Unit Meetings, inspiring participation, building team leadership in the Units.

DEPARTMENT AMERICANISM CHAIRMAN • 2016-2017
Developed a mini-curriculum incorporating Education with Americanism and Poppy program to take the program to elementary schools in the Central Arkansas area. Developing and presenting an integrated Committee program to encompass components of the multi-faceted modules for Poppy, Education, Veterans in the Classroom, ALA History, and Community Service. Invited other Units to participate so they would have Mission Program service hours to report for Unit Mid-Year and Year-End Reports.

DEPARTMENT EDUCATION CO-CHAIRMAN • 2016-2017
Developed /sponsored the Food, Health and Safety Seminar for students at Landmark Elementary School to teach children and parents about healthy eating and proper food preparation techniques. Met Parents and students incorporating information about ALA, our history, and encouraging membership recruitment.
Convened a special committee with Department President/Education Chairman revising and redeveloping criteria for Department Scholarship Applications. Designed and added rubric assessment tool for Unit and Department application evaluation. Promoted Scholarships to schools and received 28 Scholarship Applications for two scholarships. Working with the family of Past Department President, DeMona Reeves, to establish the DeMona Reeves Memorial Scholarship at the ALA Headquarters.

Active Sponsor in Unit Revitalization for Manila, Newark, Mabelvale, and others. Brought in brand new Unit Charter for DeQueen and assisted Department Secretary in bringing in new Charter for Cotter.

Meeting the Veterans in the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System at McClellan and Ft. Roots, and assisted living facilities and rehabilitation centers – spending time with them in the waiting room to hear their stories.
•
Frequently donating Veteran Needs Items to the VA hospitals, and assisting Department Headquarters in delivery of items to the Voluntary Services office when items are delivered to ALA Headquarters.
•
While serving my country, I developed and led a family support group in each location where I served.
•
Pulaski Association of Classroom Teachers – Served as the representative for my school, as well as 4 years on the Executive Board.
•
Train-the-trainer instructor in Cultural Diversiry, while working for Pulaski County Special School District.
•
Area Representative for the North Pulaski Retired Teachers Association during 2012-2015.
